Catalyst Sports Enhances Esports Offering with Hire of Esports Industry Leader Avi Bhuiyan
Catalyst Sports & Media today announced the hire of Avi Bhuiyan as Executive Vice President of esports. Since joining Catalyst on December 12 2016, Bhuiyan helps lead the esports division with Bryce Blum, Executive Vice President of esports, to further build out the company's esports practice. Bhuiyan joins Catalyst from Riot Games, an American video game developer, publisher and esports tournament organizer, where he was an esports official for Riot's League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS), Riot Games' flagship North American esports league.
Walters, Swartz target esports with new agency
Former Relativity Sports executives Happy Walters and Josh Swartz are launching a new venture, Catalyst Sports & Media, that will focus on the business of three global, growing sports: basketball, soccer and esports. Silicon Valley entrepreneur and Novo Construction CEO Jim Fowler is backing the new agency, which has hired some young executives, including Bryce Blum, an attorney who has carved a niche as an expert in esports. Blum will oversee esports as executive vice president.
